Pre-drywall / New home
A pre-drywall inspection is a very important time in the construction process – it is the last possible time to find defects, improper construction techniques, or safety hazards. Once the drywall is installed, all existing problems will be hidden. These defects will eventually show up and result in big expenses and inconvenience. The builder’s warranty lasts only one year. Since homes are built much faster these days, it is becoming more common for deficiencies to go unnoticed. Most people are under an impression that the county building inspectors will uncover all defects, however, due to staff shortage, most county inspectors spend only a few minutes at each lot. We devote between two to three hours on-site, inspecting all components of the house and its systems. We take photos of all defects we find and provide you with a detailed report with the types of home inspections that you can forward to the builder for repairs. (Sample Report)
We can uncover the following types of home inspections:
- Improper load transfers, missing lateral supports
- Damaged, Moldy, or Improperly Cut framing
- Improperly installed house wrap
- Improper Protection for plumbing pipes
- Improperly installed beams and headers
- Missing Air Seal
- Missing Fire Stopping
- Improper Protection for wires
- Improper sealed, secured, or damaged ducts
- Foundation Damage
- Defective or Missing Materials
- Potential Water Intrusion Areas
